Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) is a program that lets you run Linux binary executables (ELF files) on Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server 2019. There were a lot of important changes made to WSL 2 in May 2019. These changes included the addition of real Linux kernels through a subset of Hyper-tools.
